Est. 2026  ·  Opportunities for young musicians

The place where young musicians find what’s next.

We’re a small company, made by a musician for musicians.

Performing on a real stage. Hearing great artists up close. Playing alongside others. Spending a summer at a festival, learning from new mentors. Meeting peers who love music just as much. For young musicians, experiences like these are how they grow: in skill, in understanding, and in their love for the music.

So much is out there.

But it’s all scattered. Knowing what exists, and what’s right for each student, usually takes hours of research or the right connections. National or local? Competitive or open? Right for their age, level, instrument and repertoire? What does it cost? Will they hear about it in time to prepare?

And the people behind these programs are searching too: for the right students, like the ninth-grade clarinetist in Princeton who’d be perfect for their ensemble.

We’re building one place to gather these opportunities, so every young musician finds the ones that fit.

They come from the websites of hundreds of music organisations: lessons and youth orchestras, summer festivals, competitions and concerts worth hearing. We keep adding new ones as they open, each with a link to its source, so they arrive in time.

§ Where our name comes from

From the Sanskrit

स्व

sva

one’s own

रस

rasa

essence

स्वरस

svarasa

one’s own essence

Svarosa

rasa softened to rosa

Our name comes from classical Indian aesthetics, the rasa tradition, built around the connection between an artist who pours feeling into their work and a sensitive listener, a sahṛdaya, who takes it all in. The artist plays from their own essence, and the listener hears with theirs.

Today, we help young musicians find what’s next. It’s a first step toward something we care about deeply: sustainable careers for musicians, and a culture of deep listening.

Hi, I’m Omkar.

I’m still a music student myself. I’ve been learning piano for over a decade, and recently began studying music composition through Juilliard Extension. I also played clarinet in middle and high school. Music is one half of my life. The other is computer science and math, which I studied at the University of Maryland. Svarosa is where the two meet.

In high school, I was lucky. I had private lessons, an orchestra, a pit band, and through them, invitations to play in other places. Opportunities found me.

Then I left for college, and that network faded. As an amateur pianist, I had to do the finding myself, and I discovered how much is out there to help me grow as a musician. It’s just scattered. It’s hard to tell what fits: what’s right for my level, close to me, suited to my repertoire, age and goals, and even what to expect when I get there.

So I started Svarosa: to gather it all in one place, so every young musician can find what fits them.

I hope it helps along the way. Thanks for reading!

Warmly,

Omkar
